Members kayd_mon
Not sure if there's already a thread on these, but I just saw them on Musician's Friend. http://backstage.musiciansfriend.com/Guitars/Electric-Guitars/Solid-Body-Electric-Guitars/Anniversary-Flood-Les-Paul-Studio-Electric-Guitar-Green-Swirl.site1skuH71145000002000.sku The finish is different, that's for sure. What does everyone think? Looks cool? Firebird X on an LP?
Members 3volved
I like it, it's a nice change of pace from usual finishes put on LPs.
Members DaleH
Seems like a lot for a studio.
Members mrbrown49
Kind of silly IMO.
Members Timmott
Too much for a studio, but when they blow them out for stupid prices because no one buys them I wouldn't mind snagging one. If they had a red or orange one that'd be sweet.
Members ExiledCrow
I like those! But yeah, a bit high for a studio ... not that I'm really in the market either way as I like SGs better and if I were step up to a Gibby it would probably an SG long before a LP. A good blowout might change my mind though ...
Members PunkKitty
$1550 for a LP Studio??? I don't think so.

Members Elias Graves
I like the look. A sunburst studio will cost you 1300, so that doesn't seem out of line. High end finishes are labor intensive and a royal PITA to pull off. They are not cheap. EG

Members Timmott
Why go for the over the top finish and not have a bound fretboard? I hate that {censored}.
Members EdMan63
I like it. I'm usually pretty conservative, but I like it for some reason.

I think its more a question that it's kinda stuck between the perceived "sweet spots" for a studio and a Standard.
Members foose4string
Hideous. Never have liked swirl finishes, and this reconfirms my opinion.
Members Flogger59
Commemorating the Nashville flood? Commemorating how the factory floor looked after the water receded.
Members Wyatt
These seems a lot nicer, more conservative swirls compared to the old Custom Shop "Bowling Ball" models of the '90's (or the Bowling Ball Strats of the '80's). I like the Green a lot. I don't like the burst of the Blue.
Members Special J
Kinda cool, but I don't love the color choices. I'd like to see an amber or an orange.
Members guitarman3001
I actually like them. It's a finish you don't see anywhere else. Makes the guitar kind of unique. But {censored} paying 1500 for it. Waaaay too much. Like someone else said, if and when they blow them out for under a grand, maybe I'd consider one. Members Jerry_L
Commemorating the Nashville flood? Yes. This Anniversary Flood Les Paul Studio commemorates the Nashville Flood of May 2010 that caused over a billion dollars in damage and took the lives of more than 30 people. The traditional Les Paul mahogany body/maple top is graced with a distinctive swirl finish with a limited run of 300 guitars in each finish. When the Gibson factory flooded, 55-gallon drums of lacquer spilled. After the waters receded, these swirl patterns were on the floor. Gibson felt they were cool and now they're a permanent part of the floor of the finish booth. The mahogany neck has a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard while a 490R neck humbucker and 498T bridge humbucker harness the resonant power of the time-tested selection of tonewoods. Members Ralph onion
This {censored} never surprises me anymore! Anything for the almighty dollar! Gibson is a whore big company and will prostitute anything for a buck! Can I get a LP that was close to the bathroom and smells like {censored}? Members mrbrown49
Yea, maybe... I think the plates/coins and such that people were selling commemorating 9/11 are a bit off also. I think the big difference here is gibson was actually directly affected by it.
