Members brentrocks
I'm trying to give back in my own little way. Deb, my wife is a 7th grade teacher in a small, low income district here in SW MI. Twice a year they have an activity day to reward the kids that do their work, respect the staff and those who are just good kids. The shut down the normal school day a couple hours early today and set up various activities around the school for kids to enjoy. I volunteered to bring in my amps, pedalboard and a couple guitars to let kids play guitar, try out the FX, ask questions, help those who already play and may bring in their own guitar, etc. This is a very underprivledged district, and these kids normally might not get a chance to jam or play in this environment....so i figured that giving up a day of work to give these kids a little rock n roll excitement is well worth it. I'm taking my Colonial and my lil peavey 2x8 combo for the kids to try out. I'm also gonna take some guitar pics, strings and a couple leftover PSP shirts to give to the kids that play outside of school or may have a guitar at home but werent able to bring it in. I'm bringing the H 157 and the 2000 H 150 ultra so that kids will have a guitar to play if they couldnt bring one of their own or have never played an electric guitar before. I just got done unhooking everything and getting ready to pack up....it should be a fun day. I will have more info and pics of this exciting event later... Members brentrocks
A great time was had by all. Being 11, 12, 13 year olds, a lot of them were too shy to play....but there were some good little players in the bunch. The best was when the girl in the purple shirt broke out into the intro for Sweet Child o Mine and then the kid in the white shirt followed with the rhythm!!! CLASSIC!!!!Not a lot of questions, a lot of on-lookers...quite a few kids wanted to try out the electrics and one kid brought his own acoustic.I was surprised to hear one girl play the intro to DAY TRIPPER...very cool!!!!I had a lot of fun too! Members LesPaulFetish
That is very nice of you man... And that Black Beauty is freaking sweet. I would be WAYYY too shy to try out anything having never played before LOL but credit to the kids that did, and big credit to you.
