Vintage VS 6

I'm interested in getting an SG copy. Anybody (especially all you brothers across the pond) have any experience with the Vintage VS 6? The Vintage repro line seems to get pretty good reviews. I'm not concerned with the pups, I'll upgrade, just curious as to the overall quality for a retired old Road warrior who does occasional recording both at home and with friends. Perhaps better quality control than Xaviere?

I reckon Vintage make some of the best budget copies of Fender and Gibson models I've played. The price seems to be creeping up over here though - a number of years ago you could pick them up used for very little. I've played one of their SGs and it was pretty good. A friend of mine has the LP double cutaway model with a single P90 and it's an excellent guitar.

Update. I went to one of my local guitar stores today who has a Vintage VS 6 in stock. I had already dropped off my Xaviere for a fret dressing at another Shop and played a used Ebony Gibson SG Standard they had for sale. Comparing the two, well, was no comparison. The Gibson is the real deal. The neck had some heft and I was impressed by it's playability. The Vintage's neck was a tad slimmer and overall the guitar felt much lighter. Plus side, the Vintage was very playable, held tune very well even with typical Music store un-stretched strings subjected to Albert King sized bends by yours truly. I would upgrade either guitar's pickups as I'm a big believer in pickup upgrades. The Vintage seemed better quality-wise than the Epi G-400 I've played or the Xaviere 335 clone that badly needs a fret job.. Okay, any other SG clones out there I should consider? Thanks
