Members BB123
Been saving up for my first electric guitar, amp, etc. Did my weekly look on craigslist last week , and saw a "Fender Telecaster" for $275. Turns out it was a Squier Classic Vibe '50s, but in like new condition, says he bought it when he was working at a music store since he had a discount, but never learned to play. I asked him if he would do $250 for guitar + gator case he had on the same listing for 40, he said he could go lower but for 300 he'd throw in the case and a "small VOX amp" (later he said it was a Pathfinder). So I said I would meet him Wednesday to check it out. It sounds like a heck of a deal for all those things in like-new condition so i'm definitely gonna inspect it before handing him the money. Any advice on some subtle things to look for, aside from the obvious stuff? Thanks for any advice.
Members sk8centilli
Just the basics: be sure that wherever you meet him you can plug it in so you can tell that it all works to your satisfaction. If it does, buy it! Btw, did he mention if it is a Pathfinder 15R? I've never had one, but people seem to like those pretty well.
Members BB123
He didn't mention if it was a 15R or not. He said the best place for him would be a Kroger parking lot, which I understand not wanting strangers at your house, but I would have to think of a way to get power to the amp... Members straycat113
Go buy one of those $15 little Marshal amps as they will atleast let you know everything is working.
