Members Reverend179
So, I was in a local music pawn shop, just dinking around, when a crummy looking old guitar caught my eye. When I played it, I realized I had somethin' pretty special on my hands. 250 dollars later, I had it home and started doing research. The camera really doesn't pickup the nice yellowing the finish has done over the years. It's missing a knob, but I think I'm gonna keep it that way- it doesn't hit get in my way like typical strat knob placement does. It also has a replaced saddle on the Floyd, but I don't think I'm gonna replace it, as it sorta fits the aesthetic of the guitar. It's a late '86-early '87 Kramer Pacer Deluxe, with an authentic floyd, schaller locking tuners and straplocks. Upon taking off the pickguard, I found 'MJ' on the bottom of the pickups. I found out that they are hand-wound Seymour Duncans by Maricela Juarez, the manager of the custom shop at SD, and original pickup winder.
Members Woody_in_MN
I really don't know Kramer's - but HNGD. I like the HSS combo. My Hwy 1 hass that. 3 paws up from Lamb Chop.

My opinion now is that it's one of the best guitars you can get for under 500 bucks. The neck is wide, but not shredder wide, and the trem keeps tune like a sumbitch even with egregious abuse. That's why I'm keeping it- the thing LOOKS like a pawnshop special, but plays better than my PRS or my Les Paul. It'd be an affront to try to pretty this dag nasty bitch up. Members fretmonster
Nice score on that baby that recalls big hair and pointy headstocks. Kramer made a great guitar in those days; looks like a keeper and a collectible one at that. Congrats on a great deal.

Members Lonnie99
Very nice. Last summer I picked up a USA Kramer in pieces at a garage sale for $25 with HSC. Guy said it was a project he never got around to, had no idea what it was.

I guess it's lucky that golden toothed hooker is missing a knob....... Sounds like quite a find!!!! Not a looker in my book, but some things are hard to put down...... Members Reverend179
Come on, lamb chop. Shark fin headstock and original Floyd. Give him all 4. It's cool. If it were a hockey-stick headstock I'd DEMAND all four. Also, I've come to the realization that this plays nicer than my PRS does. I may be going crazy, but it's just...effortless to play.
