I can't believe it's taken me this long to discover Pink Floyd...

listen to A Saucerful of Secrets and then report back
:)

I shall report back ASAP.

Now, since this has fallen into my lap, I feel I must give something back. For any blues fans out there, Joe Bonamassa seems to be the hot {censored} right now with his new album:

Have you listened to any Led Zeppelin?

I most certainly have! Been a devout follower of Jimmy Page for a few years, after seeing him "perform" at the Olympic closing ceremony back in 2008. I thought that "performance" was simply awesome. However, I recently discovered that it was almost entirely sync'd.

Ya should have seen them live "back in the day" before they all went nuts or became gigantic pompous asses. I do love the Floyd very dearly (soundtrack of my teenage years etc) but they did rather end up a bunch of idiots. Being the biggest act in the world certainly does a number on peoples heads.

Yes, it certainly can do that.

If you think
that's
good, check out
Dark Side Of The Moon
, Wish You Were Here, and Animals.

That album was so over-played on Classic Rock format radio, I don't think I'll ever be able to enjoy it again.

These days my go to is Animals.

Now, what's making this an even more mind-blowing experience is the rather mind-blowing speaker setup currently attached to the computer.

BEHOLD!

Wow and to think I listen to mine off a turntable. (through a tube Hi-Fi).

Nothing wrong with a turntable. I just raided the house and garage and found an abundance of speakers, so I put my mind to creating the most brutal wall of sound I possibly could. Not pictured is my 100W guitar amp, which is acting as a second sub, only a speaker fill is applied to it. {censored} the neighbours!

All you need are two good speakers placed properly for stereo separation. This is a situation where more isn't better. You'll lose clarity and definition.

And I feel like such a fool for it.

I was originally going to make a smartass comment, then realized that it took me until age 38 to "discover"--I mean, REALLY learn to appreciate--the Beatles. Congrats on your recent enlightenment; great music is timeless.

Sorrow is great but thats not where the Genesis of FLoyd is..
you going to have to get in the way back machine and start with Astrodominaie sp,,,
and plow through all that came before sorrow... those weird sid barret years are worth hearing and all those other LPs... there lots of work to do... Animals in a cave grooving with a pick is freaking amazing... and arnold lane... and.... there lots and lots to listen too... and then there is the solo stuff by Roger and David...

and then there are the movies...

Thank you for withholding that smartass comment :)

I think I'm doing rather well, learning to appreciate Floyd at age 19. It may sound clich
