Members vivid2012
Is it possible to find a guitar to play both acoustic and electric guitar (rock) on the same one? What is the best way to find it. I'm talking an easy way to very quickly switch between a great acoustic guitar sound and then go into a straight out great over driven rock electric sound? Is this Acoustic-Electric Guitar qualified enough? Any other good suggestion??
Members kayd_mon
A Hamer Duotone is the best I could find. It helps to have an acoustic processor/modeler to help give body to the peizo pickup, but it's a true hybrid. Acoustic string path, real humbuckers, two output jacks (one for the humbuckers, one for the piezo).

From what the OP asked, this would be the right kind. a simple acoustic with piezo won't go gracefully into "great over driven rock electric sound". You'd be amazed how well a simple acoustic will do dirt. The guy asked about a $90 guitar and gets advised to buy a $3000 guitar instead. How useful is that advice? Members kayd_mon
Sorry, my mistake. Do they still sell those? I don't think so. When I was shopping for it, it took a little time to find it on eBay, but import Hamers don't tend to go for too much. I've checked periodically, and I still see them come up.
