I bought this Fender 50 classic series Strat 3 days ago..Although it is some what plain with the single ply pickguard and a pretty plain Fiesta Red Finish (it is actually much lighter in color then showing on pics)..The soft V 7.25 neck and the 50's alinco pups make this a real joy to play..

Plus the fact i paid $250 for it doesn't hurt either..

Pete -- in my experience neck shape and radius are rather independent -- I've found vintage radius (i.e. 7.5") necks that were rather flat in back and modern (i.e. 9.5") radius necks that were round. However, I do find the vintage radius and (especially) tiny frets to be problematic. But c'mon -- for two-fiddy you could certainly afford to bolt on a new neck!!!

I used to have one ... I found the stock pickups a little shrill, harsh and coarse so I swapped 'em out for a set of Kinman AVn Blues, which were lovely ... however, the (unrolled) neck profile was a little on the sharp-edged side, which started to get on my nerves. Eventually I sold it (along with a Strat Plus) to help finance my Custom Shop Jeff Beck Strat.

Let me emphasise, though, that these were entirely subjective and personal quibbles ... it was a seriously well-made guitar, and for someone with tastes and preferences different from mine, it could well be the proverbial canine cojones.

So enjoy, play it in good health ... and rock da house.
