Yeah, she knows...cameras are disposable, but good glass is forever. Or is that diamonds? No, no, I'm pretty sure it's good glass. Are those the 24-70mm and 70-200mm f/2.8s? I have those on my gear wish list. Do you folks have a flickr or smugmug site?

Members kulardenu
I have a Leica R3 & the some HQ glass to go with it and a Mamiya 645, all pretty much obsolete now. Waiting for the vinyl revolution to hit the film industry...

Yep they are...plus she has the 85mm f/1.4 and the 50mm f/1.4 in there. She really, really, likes the 24-70mm. Members larry50
All she needs is the Nikkor 14-24 f/2.8 and she's got the Nikon Holy Trinity. I have the 24-70 and the 70-200 VRII version. Both are scary sharp, but my Nikon primes beat them both.

Very sharp and good distortion control across most apertures. For a few bucks more, you can get the 55-300 with the extra reach and a metal lens mount (the 55-200 uses plastic). Great lens for the money, although the Nikon steal of the century is still the 50mm 1.8D.
Members kulardenu
I always used a fixed 90 or 100mm for portraits in 35mm or 140mm in medium format. Zooms seemed too flimsy.

Members Jkater
My wife has a $7,000 Yamaha flute. That's more expensive than any of my guitars.
Members pekelnik
I have guitar GAS AND camera GAS, how bad is that? Luckily there is not much more that I want on either side. I can't store more guitars and can't carry heavier camera gear anymore. I mean, who wouldn't want a 70-200mm f2.8L IS 2 lens. But 1.5kg? I'm not carrying that in addition to the 1.6kg 5d mark 2 + 24-105f4L and a selection of fast primes..
Members jshaffer20
My wife is just getting started with her own photography biz. And yes, the gear is expensive! Its ok though, after she shoots a few weddings this summer it will be worth it:cop:
