How many pedals are on your pedal board??

I have 7 not counting my tuner.

My idiot drummer keeps telling me I have too many. He has no reasons to base this on other than "some really kick-ass blues guitarist said you don't need no pedals".

Check my sig! I usually plug in a tuner, too. The tuner and the wah aren't mounted on the board, and sometimes I don't plug the wah in. I have many more pedals (enough to build a couple more boards), but the one in my sig is all I need for the gigs I have, which are all quite different.

Six here. Hardly ever use the Small Clone, but it's useful on occasion. I'd probably use fewer if I were playing loud enough to get any serious power tube breakup.

DynaCop -> Seymour Duncan Twin Tube Classic -> Barber Direct Drive -> Small Clone -> Big Muff -> Deluxe Memory Man

My board currently has 12 pedals on it including the tuner. I like crunch boxes the best.

Dunlop Crybaby Wah (gain & true bypass mods) > Analogman Sunface Fuzz > Suhr Riot Dist > AM King Of Tone dual OD > Damage Control Liquid Blues OD > Peterson Strobostomp Tuner > Dano Fish 'n' Chips EQ > Xotic RC Booster > Dano Cool Cat Tremolo > Sweetsound Mojo Vibe > Vox Time Machine Delay > VanAmps Solemate Reverb

Well...

Korg Pitchblack Tuner>Boss PS-5>Boss SD-1>Boss DS-1>Boss GE-7>Boss PH-3>Boss EH-2>Boss NS-2...and sometimes I use a Morley Optical Volume at the front of that so it's a total of 9 with the VP, 8 without. And I use every damn one of them and they sound great. I am a constant tinkerer so my bandmates do laugh because I am constantly playing with the order and switching things in and out. But whatever is on the board is actually being used, no space fillers.

We don't give each other {censored} about how much gear to use, as long as it can be set up and torn down quickly and efficiently. Challenge your drummer to see if he can set up and adjust his entire kit in the time it takes you to set up your rig and I'd bet money he either cannot or will not. I've managed to get my setup time down to 10 minutes, tuned and ready to go.

Son's pedal board has 11. Can't see the tuner, above wah in this pic.

He has since moved the ABY to the right vertical side of the upper part. So, it was full, but the little {censored}er found more room. I think he wants a flanger for the empty spot.

This weekend I played with guitar > wah > tuner > direct drive > SD1 > microvibe > amp

I have a carbon copy, but haven't felt the need to hook it up for the band stuff. And I just got the SD1, so I wanted to get my money's worth and try it instead of the TS9-DX. I'm really not looking to add any other pedals to my board. I'm pretty happy with everything, although the microvibe seems to lower the output volume of the amp whenever it is on. It's not so bad for rythym parts when I am using it as a chorus type sound, but sometimes I like to crank it for that Hendrix Band of Gypsies sound.

Playing out I rarely use more than 5 pedals in a small portable case. I have 12 pedals on my studio board. Its rather a large two tiered board that doesnt get taken out to gigs. I also hyave many rack units fore recording as well. Its all about getting different recording tones.
