Members vintage clubber
Chris, I think if you were up front with the customer about the cost and what he would end up with I would have made him pay.Not somebody I would want to do business with. Yeah, I told him the cost for the toggle, jack, strings, and tuners. He knows my labor rate ($30/hr) which I really cut in half because I had put closer to 3 hours in it with all the trouble shooting on the electronics. I didn't charge him for the used nut or pot I had installed. Again, if I hadn't already done a bunch of work for him I would definately have handled it differently. Members Malcolm Ramone
Those Harmony H-800 series are the blueprint for the cheapest guitar possible! The 2 pup versions essentially have a middle pup and a neck/middle pup. But, since so many started out on one, especially the older sunburst ones, they do sell on ebay. Nut not typically over $100. I have two of those, and one will be fixed up as a 'proper' guitar, with a decent bridge and pup positions! -Adam
Members vintage clubber
I've decided to use this bridge that was set aside for my La Cabronita which is still getting stained/finished since I had already used the Wilkinson vintage tuners from that project on this guitar. I'll just re-order the bridge when I re-order the tuners...
Members atrox
I have a closet full of guitars that people didn't pick up. Luckily, none of them had a lot of my money put into them. This stuff comes with working with musicians. As a whole, they are a very unreliable and unrealistic bunch. It's half the reason why i closed my business. The "0" fret seems to be about where the nut would go on most normal guitars. Is my neck scale determined from Nut to Bridge or on this one should I be measuring from that "0" fret?? Members cratz2
I had one for a while that I gave to the younger kids. I put a Dimarzio SDS-1 which is kinda P90-ish in it and back when I had my 12" Tweed Champ clone, I honestly thought that was the best sounding guitar I ever played through it.Tuners held a tune, but sucked to manipulate, the look of the nut drove me crazy and the E string was a half step sharp at the 12th fret, but I got some decent enjoyment out of it. I like that white color on that. The bridge/tailpiece just suck balls on these guitars though...
Members mnhhngbfs
there are rickenbacker styled bridges that are a direct replacement for those cheap teisco-style bridges. they're on ebay for $12 or something. same width as the stock bridge but with intonatable saddles. the string spacing should be a better match than what you'd get using that tele bridge. edit: forgot the linkhttp://cgi.ebay.com/OLD-STYLE-ELECTRIC-GUITAR-BRIDGE-/190527016665?_trksid=p4340.m263&_trkparms=algo%3DSIC%26its%3DI%252BC%26itu%3DUCI%252BIA%252BUA%252BFICS%252BUFI%26otn%3D10%26pmod%3D220565109254%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D8732946003692215301

The Wilkinson cut off tele bridge with the compensated saddles should work just fine though. the Carvin pickups have 11 pole pieces, so string spacing should be a non-issue.
