Members vintage clubber
for the price point, I would take a used Squier or even used MIM over any of them. I may consider an older SX with the more Fender like headstock though...
Members harold heckuba
I have all 3 currently, I would say it depends on the particular model. I am very impressed with AXL and my Turser particularly. I love SX but dont like the headstock.
Members Woody_in_MN
Thanks Guys The headstock is not a big deal for me either way. For an SX I was considering this one - Ash body The AXL I considered is the Marquee SRO.
Members Stackabones
I love that ash! I've heard that SX necks have thick, gloopy finishes. Name on the headstock doesn't bug me so much, but that is one ugly headstock. I think the ash would look great with a tort pg and rosewood board. Like this?: SX has a few models with satin/oil finish that I think are some of their best. http://www.rondomusic.com/HAWKashmnna.html I have a Turser tele, and a few SX's. I like them both. I'd say if you are going to change a bunch of stuff on no matter what you get, so SX.

Members Sheraton
I've never picked up the AXL but I had one of the ash bodied upscale (oxymoron?) SX's a ways back and just played a used Turser at GC th other day. The SX was a pretty guitar with an ash body, flame maple neck, pearl pickguard, gold hardware. It had crappy electronics but was very solid otherwise. What I didn't like was that the pickguard, bridge, and maybe the neck IIRC were not "Fender Standard" size and were not interchangeable with aftermarket parts. So i sold it. The used Turser comparaed very closely with a Squier CV 60's Strat with crappier pickups. Based on that I'd say Turser if the price is right. This used one was in perfect condition for $69.
