Members nuke_diver
I tried this last night but it does not appear to work on my nylon picks as near as I can tell. However I do happen to have a tortex and it clearly works on those. I'm not sure what the tortex material is or why it would work so well on them but it does

Members BoneNut
I love how many people here are just discovering friction. Amazing.Next thing, they'll find out you can just go out and buy pointy picks. Maybe they'll post a video about that on YouTube.
Members Wenrealityhurts
What's the best carpet to use to really bring out the tone in the pick?
Members Jkater
I have suddenly this idea of ROUNDING off a big stubby for mandolin picking. i'll try the carpet trick.
Members StevePage
They make pointy Tortex picks now. I bought myself a few of these recently and I've fallen in love with the 1.0mm TIII. I used Jazz III's for years but missed the tone and snap of a bigger pick for rhythm and after going through various others I've stuck with these. Members madDdog67
Dudes in the 70's would have lost all their picks in the shag.indeed...at one point, my parents had this hideous multi-colored shag that was about 1" deep in one of the rooms in the house. God only knows what was buried down in it
