Members Bookumdano2
hahaha... they have a 24/7 webcam with sound. So that you can hear the cars running the red lights I guess-http://www.abbeyroad.com/Crossing I totally don't get the Abbey Road floor plan at all. As I understand, the part you can see from the street is the Office... or offices....which basically looks like either a big house or a small apartment building or something. And then the studios are out back somewhere on the lot in different buildings... or something. Which I don't understand cuz that means studio One would be sitting on a HUGE lot... much bigger than the house part you see from the street (isn't it something like 100ft just in width? Inside? .... but also... .....every time I see any short clips of AR studios, people are descending long stairways. Where do those go? From what to where? Is most of AR underground or have a basement below regular ground level? I've seen floor plans of the studios but can not figure out how all of that sits on what seems to be a fairly small lot. Is there a 3d map of that place somewhere?

I think its a way of pleasing the surrounding residents with a false front. Charlie Chaplin did a simular thing when he built his film studio in Hollywood. The farmer types in the area didn't like movie people so he had the front made with a Tudor style look, yet behind the facade are a lot of big studios. I was checking out Gower Gulch in Hollywood, Gower Studios in particular and they have a modest front but behind that its humungous. Gower Studios made silent films and a lot of westerns back in the day. Actors dressed like cowboys such as John Wayne and Gene Autrey would hang out at a drug store nearby dressed in their cowboy garb waiting to get hired.
