Members workstation M.I
I've been busy finalizing plans to put a new Pro Tools Rig on order, with some questions still lingering. I'm wondering if anyone on these boards is running Pro Tools MP9/MP on any sort of Gateway laptop, particularly the NV series with a 5400 RPM drive? This 7200 RPM caper is nipping at my heels once again because I just NOW found out that is what Pro Tools requires. I had heard at one time that there were people running DAWS successfully on computers with 5400 RPM drives, nevermind the 7200. Just as long as they didn't pull off any "big moves", they were doing just fine. I was also theorizing the point that since we live in modern times with nice big memory sets that maybe, just maybe, 7200 RPM wasn't such a big requirement as it once was. I've got a Gateway NV78 myself and FINALLY enough cash to make the DAW and Controller keyboard happen and I DON'T want to give myself ANOTHER excuse for not picking this up. Help appreciated, as always!
