Hagstrom Custom 58 pickups

Not sure if any of you remembers, but a while back, the UPS man brought me a broken Hagstrom Select Ultra with the proprietary Custom 58 pickups. I complained to the seller on eBay, and he was nice enough to send me a brand new one, upgraded with Seymour Duncans.

I was going to ship back the broken guitar to him with a shipping label he promised to send, but he never did. I've spoken to him on the phone twice and tried contacting him through eBay but he didn't respond. Basically, I gave up and decided to strip the broken guitar for spare parts.

So yea, I have these pickups laying around and I was wondering if they might be good for a project guitar or even to sell (probably not). Does anyone know anything about these? Are they hot/warm/vintage/good/bad?

Long shot, but I'm often surprised at what HCEG people know sometimes.

I own a hagstrom viking with the custom 58's. They are not hot. I suppose vintage-like is the closest description. There are some youtube clips which showcase these pups. Check them out.

I think your pups would work very well in a project. I like the sound of mine.

BTW - some longshots pay off
