Members poolshark
My vote has to go with Heart's Barracuda or Ozzy's Crazy Train. Not that either are {censored} songs, necessarily, but they're kind of a let down after awesome intros.
Members 98 les paul
I'll second Crazy Train.
Members honeyiscool
Enter Sandman is more of a letdown than Crazy Train.

Members shinsengumi
Also not sure if it counts, but Foreplay by Boston. Long Time isn't a terrible song, but it's not nearly as good.

Members Fenezz
In this thread, we list the songs that have awesome intros that turn into crappy songs. Not the "best" intro and *maybe* ..just *MAYBE* not the worst song, but the contrast between intro and actual song is, well, quite a contrast. Members GAS Man
Green Grass & High Tides by The Outlaws. Aimed to be a Skynyrd killer, it's got one of the best intros ever to a Southern Rock tune - fantastic - but then it mellows - degrades into pure pablum at 1:57 I mean, it just kills the high. But then it puts some real nice tasty riffs in there. To be fair, it's not a "worst song" by any means, but if they'd left the lame "Green Grass & High Tides Forever" refrain out of it, it would have been so much better. Does it again at 4:58. Man just someone do a re-cut on this tune. The extended Skynyrd-esque solo doesn't quite bring it home either. I just kinda says, "here's us doing that Skynyrd thing". But I still bought the CD not that long ago cuz I like this kinda {censored}. [video=youtube;R82OM5tzcrk] Hey! Whut? It's over. It's over? Yeah, you can go home now. Okay. Members cbh5150
Awww, dammit! There are exactly two in my head that would fit this perfectly - but I can't think of the titles or who does 'em...I wanna say one's a Pretenders tune, and the other's maybe from the 60s. Both have killer opening riffs, then "pfffffffffttttt" - instant shrinkage. Damn - it's gonna drive me nuts
Members 98 les paul
I would also like to nominate "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey. I love the intro/Verse in this song, but the Chorus I do not.
Members hardtdc
Sweet Jane ~ Lou Reed The live version. One of the coolest intros ever. It's still a great song though. Hell it's Lou man!
Members Angry Tele
great song but the intro to Beat It is rather incongruent to the rest of the song

Members Cobalt Blue
"Layla" Song isn't horrible, but it never lives up to the intro, and it ends up a total mess.
Members twofoolsaminute
I love the song, but the rest of the song does not live up to the intro to Little Guitars by Van Halen. Actually I can think of several Van Halen songs that fit this category. [video=youtube;x_-ytH0JMZg]
Members SrMeowMeow
Hey! Whut? It's over. It's over? Yeah, you can go home now. Okay. That's kinda what happens when your song is 10 minutes long.
