Members dmc69
I would feel so bad about putting pickguard holes into that body.

Members Alecto
The only downside is that you have to cover most of that gorgeous wood with a pickguard. They should have made it rear-routed. And yes, I hate Warmoth too.
Members sammyreynolds01
That might be the most beautiful body I've ever seen.
Members DaveAronow
I used to spend hours just drooling over Warmoth bodies on their site. That is one of the better ones I have seen. My favorite are the bengal bursts, but that body is badass.

Members ArmyGuitar
Man that is sweet, as stated though to bad you have to cover it up with a PG.
Members knotty
Nice. I would only have 2 pups in it, but what colour PG?
Members Lonnie99
That begs for a clear pickguard and very tidy wiring.
Moderators Ratae Corieltauvorum Posted February 9, 2012 Moderators Share Posted February 9, 2012 That begs for a clear pickguard and very tidy wiring. {censored} it, I'd hang it over the mantel:)
Members Flatspotter
For me, that's the big downside of a Strat body with nice wood/paintjob. Most of it ends up getting covered with a pickguard. Rear routing is definitely the way to go for something like that.
Members Hurtzher
Two words: translucent smoke. MAN! That would look awesome!
Members Floyd Rosenbomb
She is a beaut! She should be rear routed for controls however.
Members rburgess
I would feel so bad about putting pickguard holes into that body. This. Why on earth wouldn't you rear route that?
Members Stricken
On the other hand, I feel like the right pickguard could compliment the wood. I used to play around on the virtual strat builder they have when you order your own custom body. I would often make it a figured maple top and put a pickguard on it that was almost like a golden pearloid deal. Like so: Or: That's just me though. Members Stricken
wow...how much does something like that cost at Warmoth? Found it $463.00 http://www.warmoth.com/Showcase/ShowcaseItem.aspx?Body=2&Shape=1&Type=1&Paint=1&Path=Stratocaster,Standard,Finished&lamTop=7&i=ps6372
Members Skiddlydiddly
That's stunning. Needs a wood pickguard. Something very reddish?
Members Uma Floresta
Meh. Looks super tacky, like a finish you'd find on a bowling ball.

Members p4vl
Clear pick guard, like on a JEM. That's like making a transparent muppet so I can look at some guy's hand.
Members Floyd Rosenbomb
That's like making a transparent muppet so I can look at some guy's hand. You're a genius! A transparent muppet...how do I get one?!? One could just back paint the portion of the guard that covered the pots and switch, make it match the top more or less. Members kit_strong
For me, that's the big downside of a Strat body with nice wood/paintjob. Most of it ends up getting covered with a pickguard. Rear routing is definitely the way to go for something like that. I fall in the exact opposite camp. I think the pick guard can add some nice contrast and help break things up a bit. But I'm also a bit different in that i don't really care for highly figured tops on guitars. So for me a pick guard could actually go a long way towards improving that particular guitars looks in my eyes.
Members deanmass
This is beautiful, but, I don't know when guitars turned into furniture. Guitars are more about shape, sound and whether they make me want to play them than anything else.
