Members DaleH
I like my 69s. They have a thump you have to keep on top of. With a GFS brass block and pure nickel strings, I can coax pretty nice tones out of them, on a good day.
Members dunning-kruger
Of course you lost quack. You put in hot rails. But there SO HEAVEEYY! I have never played anything so distorted in my life that sounded so good. Makes me want to put a Hot Rails in my Classic Series 50s Telecaster......but would that alter the twang ??!?!?!??!?! Members honeyiscool
Yes, it will absolutely alter the twang. However, once you split the bucker, you can get great in-between sounds.
Members dunning-kruger
The Classic Series 50s tele i use when Im in a Grungy or Pixies mood, and altough it has vintage telecaster pickups they get heavy, grainy, and smooth. so i really want to try out hot rails in it one day and see if it can get any more hardcore. glad with what i have. I really dont care what these pickups are in the strat anymore tough, there staying forever! Im going to go with a clone of the 57/62 like someone suggested earlier. and from what cratz said it seems like its closer to those than anything else with the alnico V's and the pickup voicing. Members honeyiscool
Pixies sound is easy! Anything with buckers sounds like Surfer Rosa through a Peavey Bandit.

That might be so....but you need a special kind of telecaster if you want to "FEEL" like Frank Blank!
