Members bluesnapper
Just interested - does anyone prefer the older Fender radius?
Members Blackface
I like it, unless I'm trying to bend strings.

Members Angry Tele
its ok...9.5 is better.
Members meandi
I prefer flatter boards with a compound radius.I've built several that are 12"/16" & a couple that are 14"/20".
Members WRGKMC
If you like high string action they're are OK. Forget about getting low action if you bend strings. If you can get the high E down to 4~5/64ths without fretting out above the 12th fret bending strings you'll be luckey.
Members caveman
OK for cowboy chords but it's not for me.
Members joemonkey
It's all I have!
Members Guit-mangler
It's a good radius, and as long as you keep the truss-rod adjusted and get the frets dressed you CAN bend the {censored} out of them without problems. You do need to keep up on the maintenance or you get the fret out on 15th fret bends. And yes, the action on my '62 reissue is damn low.
Members HP Hovercraft
I prefer 7.25. As of a few weeks ago, it's all I have.
Members Doctor Morbius
I find that a 7.25" fretboard radius makes some guitars virtually unplayable for me. I prefer a 9.5" to 12" radius.
Members tedmich
building a 20" currently thats 36 frets...
Members McCain
I just ordered a 7.25" and have a strong feeling the only reason they fret out is from the lack of fall-away after the 12th fret. We'll see.
Members flump
Can't stand it. I like at least 9.5", prefer a 10-14/16" compound.
Members Grantus
It's ok. Like others, I like 9.5 better.
Members caveman
I should have mentioned that in a 5 set gig situation, where I'm playing a lot of bar chords up and down the neck, I find the 7.25" radius very fatiguing and hand cramping. Members Bro Blue
I have a Tele that's 7.25, and I don't really care for it. I like the 9.5 better, but I prefer 10 or more.
Members Canadian Jeff
They're better than nuclear fallout. Not quite as good as a Teletubbies marathon.
Members ashtray
Love 7.25 on my AVRI - combined with vintage string spacing, very comfortable to chord on. I wouldn't recommend it for bending strings though.
Members mockchoi
I voted no. I really don't hate them, and if I was a singer/strummer type I might actually prefer 7.25. But for what I do it's really not for me.
Members Grant Harding
Not for me. I prefer a compound radius that starts flatter than that.
Members Kellanium
needs a grey area option. I've never really had the chance to play one extensively. But since i never bend that far i can't imagine them being that terrible.
Members PrawnHeed
Not for me. I never understood why it is claimed they are easier to make chords on. I just find them more uncomfortable for everything.
