Members Scheming Demon
The headphone normally plays the click in-sync with the sequenced track. This is so the drummer can concentrate on the click and not be distracted by what everyone else is doing.
Members theelmsrock
Thats what I do. Our live tracks are on a split-track mini disc. The band hears the click in their IEM's, and the tracked instruments are sent to FOH.

I used to do the following: The click from the sequencer and a feed from the monitor are patched in to a small mixer with a headphone amp (a Realistic audio mixer feeding an old ghetto blaster with a strong headphone feed and Line In RCA's did the trick for me). I controlled how much of what I heard, and they were mixed mono so that I had mix and click in both ears simutaneously. Later I used a better mixer, but we did successfully reherse for a couple gigs via tapes from our keyboardist after she moved to San Francisco. She recorded her parts on DAT, with click on the right side and keyboards on the left side.
