Members relva
Not to make this an all ought bitch fest, just wondering what everybody thought on these two brands. Mainly just because somebody who owns a sonar bitched out that all pearls suck and in return I said a few mean things.......anyway to the point keep out the flaming for a change. Members woody431
I second Sonor. Although I do hate what their mounting system looks like, they are much better than Pearl imo. They also have HEAVY!!! duty hardware...And the drums are made in Germany so you know they can't be bad.

Members Nagi
If I had the choice I'd choosed the Sonor in a heartbeat hands down. I don't think Pearls suck they do make some very nice drums but I think Sonor has the best drums out there I really want to get the Delite series but they are very expensive and the designers are even more, impeccable quality and craftsmanship

The Delite and Designer range that is. The Force 1001, 2001, 3001 and S-Class Pro shells come from the Mapex factory in Taiwan. I think I'd choose a Sonor over a Pearl 8 out of 10 times, but that's just my preference. If you see what the Pearl Masterworks has to offer, given they cost about the same as Designer drums, I think they give more bang for the buck. You can decide how many plies of which wood, die cast hoops are included... etc. I think it's hard to beat the Masterworks series. Members byrddog
They both make great sets of drums. You really can't argue about a good set of Pearl masters. However, our customers who have played both will pay the money for Sonor.
