Members gp2112
Was just reading some posts and wanted to reply to a post in one of the Mirin threads. It was locked....Really? Locked? A bunch of us are having a conversation and someone locks the thread? Because it was about Mirin? Because it was about a subject that may cast unfavorable light upon our hallowed forums? Puhleeze! Ok, mods: Try to micromanage a tad less in here and you may find that your forums work fabulously. I agree that foul language is not needed to get a point across. I agree that racial or sexually biased material or responses should not be tolerated. I agree that there are certain limits to what a preson can and cannot post in a forum but...To close a thread for no apparent reason other than you don't like what the subject matter is about? Where in that thread was ther anything that could have warranted your action? The conversation was mild to say the least yet it was deemed inappropriate and ripe for being locked?Look, if you have not figured it out already you will find that there are many opinions YOU don't agree with. You may find some threads tiresome and even unproductive! Yet others may find those same threads entertaining or even informative. Entertainment and information...Huh...Amazing concept for an entertainment and information-based website. Lighten up a bit, please. Bring down the ban-hammer on those who deserve it but don't take actions because the thread may contain subject matter YOU don't like. When you do things like that it tends to make the natives restless and when internet natives get restless they don't spear you (other than with words), they just leave. Whether you wish to believe it or not this is OUR forum. Your job is to ensure that this forum does not devolve into chaos and anarchy. That thread that you locked was not, ever, (even the threads started by Mirin were not, ever), chaos and anarchy.Have a spiffy day!
Members gtrjones
Been registered less than a year, has a total of 54 posts (about 6 per month) and claims ownership of the forum... Good Luck with that, hope it works out for ya.
Members GilmourD
Um... It was a thread about a troll that was getting trolled in. Are you a troll?
Members gp2112
I come here to be entertained. I do not believe I am a troll but I am opinionated. Especially if it deals with censorship or heavy-handedness. If my opinions bother you then...they bother you. Sorry.
Members kayd_mon
Mirin's threads were deleted and/or locked after his "go out with a bang" porn threads. He was actively trying to get banned. He started out by just being annoying, then moved to personal, violent threats (those got deleted quickly), then posted porn for two or three straight mornings, and now I assume he's gone. His banning was for good reason, and the mods let him stay a lot longer than most members would have let him. Judging from how they handled everything, they didn't micromanage nearly as much as other forums I've seen, and they obviously gave him the benefit of the doubt until it became obvious that he wanted to disregard forum rules. Sorry you couldn't respond in that thread, but that's pretty much the story, take it or leave it.
Members gp2112
Ok. I was not aware of his antics other than the posts I saw. I did not see the other stuff he posted before it was removed. Thank you for your explanation.
