Metheny has a super melodic, spacey thing which for me, is intoxicating. Larry though, really grabs me. He has Blues/Rock chops ( bends and vibrato, pretty foreign to most jazz cats) PLUS the jazz harmonic adventurousness. I had the pleasure of seeing Larry at NYCs Blue Note a few years back.
