Members warpedpig
I'm looking into purchasing a crash/ride type cymbal. What I need is something I can really lay into for a white noise effect. So I'm not necessarily looking for a cymbal that is both crashable and rideable, just a cymbal that will hold up to aggressive bashing while retaining some control. I already own a 22" ride which is mostly all ping. I'm considering the Paiste Rude 18" Crash/Ride as well as other crash/rides from other companies but I thought you all could point me in the direction of specific crash or ride cymbals that would also suit this application. Such as some light rides or heavy crashes that would sound good in loud situations.

Members Chabo
I can attest to the Paiste Rude Crash/ride being quite good. I use it, and even when I have other cymbals set up on the kit, I find it to be very versatile. It sounds good as a ride (even though I now have a ride), it sounds good (although loud, which is either good or bad) as a crash, and it has a ton of cool sounds that you can get out of it if you experiment with it. Also, it has an unlathed bell, which sounds the best out of any of my cymbal bells.
