Members jokerjkny
dood that's like asking which food do you think is the best. they're all great, with their own particular flavors that'll best match you, and your music. so, go out to your local shop, and try as many as you can. you'll find a few that you'll love (and your wallet will prolly hate). my favs? AA 8" splash Encore Signature Jack DeJohnette 20" ride

Members Warhead
Chad Smith 18.5" is what I have, good for framming. Stays lit up real nice for that constant crash sound like Grohl, etc. Warren

Members ReniMani
I bought a AA 18" Medium Thin crash from MARS for $80 when they went under and it's sounds great! Nice and full but shimmery as well. Best sounding crash on my kit now. Also scored a AA 20" Rock Ride for $100 and a pair of AA 14" Regular Hats for $120 when they went under. Made out like a bandit. Was only looking for a ride, but the deals were so good, I figured why not get a whole new set? I think I'm now a Sabian convert, from Zildjian. They sound less trashy to me, more shimmery and smooth.

Good luck trying to find one! They're discountinued. I found mine by luck. I was about ready to buy some splashes and I decided to check the used rack and saw this whopping huge cymbal at the bottom. Logos are a bit faded, but damn does it sound good. It's looooud too.

Members woody431
The 17's are ok. It doesn't sound like a 16" though, well it doesn't really blend as well. I bought one and it sounds 'different'. Not clangy, but well, it sounds ok with the 16". I played it on a recording with the 16 and 19 and it blended well. Sorry for the crappy description, I'm not good at them.
