Members dopey220
hey, I've just got a quick question: what's a particularly thick rock-type crash cymbal? I keep breaking crashes, so I'm taking the obvious measure of using smaller sticks and thicker cymbals, along with trying to develop technique, but I'm not sure as to what I may want in the way of new crashes. I'm thinking about A-zildjian rock crashes or sabian AAX metal, AA metal-X, or AA rock. any other opinions would be appreciated. Eli
Members Chabo
The Paiste Rude series works well, too. In fact, I have one for sale if you'd like it. It's an 18" crash/ride. If you're interested, contact me at chabo_@hotmail.com One quality that quite a few people dislike about the really heavy cymbals is the fact that they have more ring, and they can get to be too loud at times. If you don't mind these aspects, though, then you're all set.
Members stapes2260
i would suggest using the money to take lessons instead of using it to replace your cymbals constantly. look up proper technique for hitting cymbals online or something and practice it until you can do it subconsciously. Members wombar
You've said that you're working on technique so that's just about the best thing you can do. I would definitel recommend a AA series cymbal, I'm guessing that you play some fairly heavy music so I think that the metal-x series is definitely worth looking into. I myself have a AA bright crash which I love.

That's great advice I agree, nothing like a little monetary motivation! If my drummer ever breaks the "K" I bought, I'll f*ck him up good
