Members rotgut
This use to be my 14x11 Conaway BLACK laquer finish. I have a friend with a body shop and I asked him if it was possible to paint a maple shell with auto paint. The color is garnet w/ silver metal flake. I really couldn't bring out the deep shine in these pics. I am getting the entire kit done in this finish. I might encourage him to add custom drum painting to his title..give me some feedback....John

Members stapes2260
looks awesome man. Can you ask him how much he thinks it'd cost to have a typical auto shop do a whole set like that.
Members rotgut
I will ask him. If you want, I will find out how much he would charge. The color schemes are endless. John
Members ulank
I'm not usually a fan of sparkle, but that's very nice looking. Do you think he could make my drumset look like a Ford Pinto with the passenger door in primer brown and the hood in primer gray?
Members rotgut
Is that a '77 or a 78' model?

Members Liverneck
Your friend did a nice job. Looks like a nice deep metal flake, gives a deep dimension to the shell. What did he spray it with? Enamel, Laquer, Poly urathane?
Members rotgut
Whatever the hardener they use on auto's. The finish feels hard as a rock! It did not change the sound of the drum at all.
