Members swipter1 Posted July 25, 2003 Members Posted July 25, 2003 Can anyone tell me what a perrididdle(?) is. I have seen it mentioned in several forums and do not know what it is. I am a guitar, bass and piano player and have started drums. I am doing really well but would like to know what that term means. Maybe it could help me. Thanks
Members parkbenchband Posted July 25, 2003 Members Posted July 25, 2003 yeah...like the one explained above...it's supposed to help you with you stickwork and performance....this is what percussion students are taught in band in jr. high or high school
Members joestanman Posted July 26, 2003 Members Posted July 26, 2003 ^|| The idea is to get up to higher speeds where you are "diddle" ing the 2 strokes that fall on the same hand. Its a controlled roll. It's a basic principle, but integral to almost every rudiment. Supposing you arent playing it really slow, you should be getting the 2 beats that fall on the same hand with the same stroke, and letting the stick bounce, and control with fingers to coerce the other note.
