Members Ernie
You're Mapex offer, what's up with it? You just jerkin' me around or what? If you don't really want to sell it, just tell me to shut up. Otherwise I'm interested.Ernie

Members stapes2260
I'm here I'm here. Sorry i haven't gotten back to you, I've been pretty preoccupied with school (graduating from engineering in 3 months). I realize you are looking for a good starting set, and I have a Mapex V i'm looking to sell. This kit has served me well for the past two years and only has a couple scratches here and there. I've really only torn it down and set it up about 4 times. I'll just describe it for you and you tell me if you're interested... Mapex Venus Series Kit, bought it new in June 2001. Standard size drums: 12," 13" toms, 16" floor tom, 22" bass, 14" snare Forest Green Color Wrap I just bought BRAND new heads for it (bought them today actually) : Evans G2 coated for the toms and a new Evans bass head... over $60 total (i would have felt bad selling them with the worn heads that were on them) Also put a brand new strainer on the snare.... The set also comes with the snare stand and a straight cymbal stand The things I don't have for the set are the high hat stand and the bass pedal...however I can tell you that you'd be better off getting an upgraded pedal and hi hat stand when getting any beginner kit. I'd recommend the tama roadpro series or if you are looking used: tama, pearl, or yamaha I have a few pictures of the kit if you are interested, and i can take a few more. I'll also throw in a free saluda ride cymbal if you want it (it's ok....about equivalent to zildjian zbt or sabian b8 ride). I'm looking to get $300 for it and i've got one potential buyer, but i'll offer it to you first since you sound eager to get started. let me know...........
