Members dontjokewitme
I got a slingerland snare from a friend, serial 930260 I'd like to find out as much as possible about this drum. I doubt it's very vintage or valuable but hey you never know. I just would like to know what kind of wood it is made out of/is it very good quality and worth fixing up? because i currently have a peice of crap snare thanks for any info you can give me
Members dontjokewitme
anyone? i've looked all over the internet and i can't find anything, or any snare that looks quite like this one. i was thinking maybe it is from 93 because of the serial number, but my drum teacher thinks it might be from the 60's or 70's
Members Newman
I dont know if it is a rare, vintage drum, but you can tell the difference between a taiwanese crap slingerland from a high quality slingerland by looking at the badge. If it says it was made in Niles Illinois or any other US city, it is probably very good quality and has some value.
Members dontjokewitme
the badge says USA slingerland, but inside there is a sticker that says taiwan. my guess is taiwan then? its just my teach didnt seem to think it could be taiwanese because of the build quality i guess. Members dontjokewitme
and i know it can't be a musicyo slingerland... it's too old for that, and it has a finish that is like oyster gray...exactly like this ludwig floor tom http://www.vintagedrum.com/images/ludwig_floor.jpg the badge definetly is geniune, by the way. i don't know if they were putting Slingerland USA badges on foriegn made drums or what.
