Members bberko
Ive been playing acoustic for about 10 years now. I'm now considering buying my first electronic kit, but i'm new to the whole electronic drumming world. I'm considering purchasing the roland v-custom kit with the td-8 module. ive found a pretty good deal on it. anybody use it before and have some good reviews about it for me? Members Lockjaw
You could just buy the TD-10 and trigger yours.........It kicks ass.
Members bberko
the reason im buying them is the noise factor. i rec3ntly moved to an apartment where i cant practice on my acoustics.

Members Narsus
First off, skip the Roland. More on that later. As for the module...I have the TD-8 and it's plenty for practicing. Probably too much, even. Only go with the TD-10 if you're going to be sampling/recording your own stuff, or need a RIDICULOUS amount of flexibility. It's not worth the price unless you're a MIDI junkie. I played the Roland kits a lot, and was about to blow $3000 on the kit you're talking about when I heard about Hart Dynamics. I checked out Hart and did as much research as was humanly possible before I purchased the 6.4 pro kit. I didn't find crap for reviews, but I took a chance and bought it anyway (it was about $400 cheaper than the roland setup with the same amount of drums/cymbals.) The Hart kit kicks roland's ass, in my not so humble opinion. The shells are more like real drums, the sound is still low enough to play in an apartment, the triggers are awesome, and the company is cool. The best part of the kit, however, is the hardware. This kicks the hell out of Roland. The metal frame and clamps just do not move once you get em locked down, and Roland makes their crap out of plastic. The snare I got is a 13" METAL snare instead of the Roland 10"-same-as-all-the-other-drums-snare. Anyway, this drumset has treated me right, and I'd definitely suggest taking a closer look at Hart. I'm only selling my kit currently because I just bought a house with a practice space and a brand new EXPENSIVE set of Pearl SMX Session drums, but if you have to go electronic, I'd go with Hart. Send me a PM if you need some contact info for pricing and such for the Hart's, or pictures or anything. They were substantially less expensive than the Rolands, and I sure am glad I didn't buy toy drums.
