fast and thin are kind of linked in the world of cymbals. Fast implies that it's got minimal sustain and rapid decay, and in general, the heavier the cymbal, the longer-lasting the sound.

So, in short, most cymbals labeled fast will also be thin. Fast is basically a selling point for thin cymbals.

However, we must remember what Wittgenstein told us, and that is that Fast and Thin are human words, and (just like words such as Justice and Truth) human words are attempts to represent concepts that each individual perceives differently.

So, if the cymbal doesn't doesn't meet your definition of the words that someone else has chosen to apply to it (and its sonic qualities, of course), keep in mind that they're just words, and the only way to know what a cymbal sounds like is to hit it before you buy it, preferably with a "stick".

thank you all, and goodnight.
