Electronic Drum Pads!!!!! Help!!!!!

I've been looking for electronic drum pads / syn-drums. I don't want a full electronic kit. Is there a cheaper alternative than buying the roland SPDS or SP-S or whatever it's called? Ie a cheaper version of these on the market? All I ever find is triggers which is not what I want - I'd like something you can plug into an amp and play.

You could try buying a few trigger pads (ie: Roland PD6) and a module (TD6 or TD8). Not sure if that would be cheaper or not, but would serve your purpose. If you buy pads, you still need a module. Look on ebay, you might find something that will suit you.

You can get an octapad II for about 180; it has sounds and 8 triggers, plus trigger inputs-- very much like a cheap SPD with less sample capibility. Look on EBAY, esp. at completed auctions.

But the octapad I needs a sound module of some kind. The same goes with the DrumKat pad stuff. But sound modules are cheap.

To be honest with you "No" there are no other pad like the Roland on the market. I have a Roland SDP-11 chained to the Roland SP-808 Sampler. It will do everything but put gas in my truck at the end of the night.

What in particular are you looking to do with this electronic arrangement? You are very limited to what sounds your going to get from even an SPD-S or SPD-11 or 20. The SPD-S will do some sampling for you. The sounds are still not the greatest. The D-4 is a cool idea but you still need to trigger that with something. The SPD-11 would do it.

Hope this helps??

Might help if you can explain to us what you are trying to use this for. Like how many pads do you need, do you need the module to sample?

I suggested the d4 because it is cheap used and you could buy roland pads for like 40 bucks a piece used.

I use a roland spd-s with 2 external pads and a kick pedal. I have a cf card in it so I have about 40 minutes worth of sample time I can add. I use this along with my accoustic kit.

So if you can tell what you are trying to do it will help us recommend something that will work better for you.
