Members Squaysh Posted August 27, 2004 Members Posted August 27, 2004 Suppose I submit a copy of my 9 songs to the copyright office. Then, after it has been submitted, i alter a few of the levels of the instruments in the tracks and re-eq'ed here and there. I have not added any new instruments, added or taken away any melody/harmony, or rearranged the song order. Does the copyright still hold 100%? Would it be smart to resubmit a new version? Or is it not necessary in this case?
Members Altered Flesh Posted August 29, 2004 Members Posted August 29, 2004 The copywrite for the songs holds strong, the copywrite for the recording now applies only to the first version.
Members tedzepplin Posted September 27, 2004 Members Posted September 27, 2004 Form PA is for the song - words and music - NOT the sound recording. Form SR is for the sound recording. If you filed form SR and made changes I'd think the original filing would need to be added to or filed again.
