Members marko46
or put it on its side and get infinity Laughed again!!! Yea bad idea IMO. That's a lot of air to push, carrying it, special case. If they did it a while back and don't do it anymore..........................think about it. Members Longfuse
^Precision Drum has some jazz kits where the bass and floor tom come apart and swallow the rest of the kit(rack tom and snare). You could carry the entire kit in the front seat of your car. They also make 'Monster' kicks: http://www.precisiondrum.com/html/bass_drums.html

Members rayboomboom
I tried the Alex VanH thing in High School once, just at home to see if I could do it. (yes I'm dating myself here). If you looked closely at pics from that era he took 2 kicks, and held them together with the hoop, alternating the tension rods one to the front kick, the next to the back kick, and did that around the drum. It worked. the tension on the rods going to both drums kept it together. Now I didn't try to pick the thing up and move it. But it was great bedroom fun at the time. Members Isilduir
Take a look at this! In this video of Van Halen Demo tapes from '76 it looks like Alex had doubled up his double bass drums. In the pictures during the video @ 7:02 you can see 4 bass drums, 2 on each side looks like they are clamped together with the regular hoop?
