Members cdawg Posted October 21, 2011 Author Members Share Posted October 21, 2011 good point, 1k1. i had mine since i was about 16. i sure know more about heads, snares and tuning, now. it disappeared for about 10 years. then 8 years. then 7 years, etc. (bad, ring. Members cdawg Posted October 25, 2011 Author Members Share Posted October 25, 2011 update: finally got my aquarian focus-x head and puresound custom 24-strand wires. kept the remo clear ambassador on it, tho i should have replaced it. this drum kills! the ring is gone! i have the bottom head tight, the top head medium and the snares just tight enough to avoid annoying rattle. what a fat, wet sound! i have my main snare tuned tighter on the top head, so this suits me fine. but, i'll try tuning it up some when the head stretches out a bit. long story short, total success!!
