Members Mopzilla
So, what total isolation headphones do you guys like to use? DJ or not a DJ, what do you like to use?
Members 6ftabovsealevel
Very nice.... I've been using the same pair of Sony MDR V600's for years. I've heard better sounding headphones, but they've never done me wrong. I can wear them for hours without them bugging me.
Members GoldSeraph
I'm happy with my technics dj-1200 headphones. The sonys are nice but those ear cups are the size of dinner plates.
Members efadryn
I have a set of Panasonic Piezzo phones from the late 70's or early 80's. Not terribly expensive at the time I'd imagine but the clarity is great, good bass too. They don't make 'em like they used to.
Members djsynrgy
true dat. Since I started mixing I've been using a pair of old hi-fi headphones my grandfather used to use while listening to his opera records. They feel a little uncomfortable after the 3rd hour or so, but they sound SO good. They're probably almost as old as I am, if not older.
Members Super Rad!
The ones with the blinking lights. If you add a light to something, it makes it good.
Members SubSunami
Try the beyerdynamic DT 770's- the bass is clear on them all the way down to 5 Hz- they make you feel compleatly imersed in the music with BIG padded isolation cups. Members chris_chrys
Sienhiesers are supposedly the best and i've a pair which have broken twice in 3 years - good sound of them although I wouldn't mind a nice pair of them shiny silver sonys for want of a better technical description. Members djsynrgy
the sonys LOOK nice..... feel funky, sound weak. But hey, they're super popular, so they must be good right?

Members djsynrgy
sennheiser. HD25. unless you go totally hi-fi, you can't find better frequency range/response. Plus, they're totally closed, so no matter how loud the club you're playing in is, you can still hear every little detail of your music in your phones. Plus, every piece is user replaceable. Next time you watch a football game or something like that, look to see what kind of headphones the announcers are wearing. 9 times out of ten it will be the sennheiser HD25, cause it's the best. Sony's don't reproduce natural sound. They give you altered bass sounds and so on. Add to that a much lower frequency range, and we're proven once again that the name on the product means more to the consumer than the quality of the actual product.
