Replacement bridge for Ibanez SR400

I bought a rarely-used 6 yr. old SR400 and the only defect is that the springs on the bridge are rusted out. I would like to replace the entire bridge, but the hole spacing is different from any other type. What should I use to plug those holes before putting a new bridge on? Will the filler hold as well as real wood? Will it sound bad? Can I just drill right through the damn bass and make it instantly string-through? Are there any other questions I should be asking? Am I getting annoying yet?

Thanks in advance

I'd probably just clean up the existing bridge and get new springs. Dats me though.

No filler will not hold up like wood. Do you need to fill the old holes? Me thinks not unless you will be able to see them once the new bridge is on. You can always drill the holes bigger and then glue in the matching size wooden dowel. They will then hold up like the wood. Close enough anyway

The problem is that it's not just the springs actually - the intonation screws are also pretty rusted. I know you can get that whole assembly, but this is sort of a project bass for me and I would like to try doing the whole bridge. The dowels idea sounds like a winner, thanks!
