Members el_duderino676 Posted June 1, 2005 Members Posted June 1, 2005 These basses rock anyway, but with the upgrades, I'm sure this bass would be even better. Yamaha BB300
Members KeroseneTrewthe Posted June 2, 2005 Members Posted June 2, 2005 My friend use to have a neck through Yamaha the same shape as that one. Probably the same model. I played it a few times and they are really punchy and have a nice clear sound to em.
Members el_duderino676 Posted June 2, 2005 Author Members Posted June 2, 2005 I don't think that the BB300s were neckthroughs, it may have been another BB model though. They definitely are solid basses, the only weak link in the whole thing is the electronics, they sound a little on the weak side. I wonder if they have fixed that probelm on the new BB400s, which are a remake of the older BBs.

Only the higher-end BB's were neck-through. I think it BB-1000 and up.

I do believe that you are correct about the neckthroughs, except I think that the new BB 1000s, the Michael Anthony signature bass, is a bolt on neck. I almost hate to route into my BB300, but to get good distortion, I think I need to install a neck pickup to give me lows to a separate output.
