I'm helping my sister purchase a bass guitar. It's a warwick witch active SD bass line's.

Never cared for the sound of MECs, but love the acoustic sound of warwicks. So, I was wondering, how does the bass lines compare?

Thanks fellas.

Hehe... and by "a tone all their own" you mean that a SD-equippet warwick would sound... better?

Perhaps I should also mention that I have no way of trying before buying.

Incubus you say? I'm on it.

Hehe... right :D

Yeah, love the sound of my bart P/J, but hey, that's not the issue at hand here ;)

The bass comes with SD... And as long as they sound better (different) than a MEC, I'm happy as a lark.

Yes, Dirk is using the basslines AJB-5 pickups and the basslines STC-3M4 preamp.

To REALLY hear how good is tone is, get the Morning View sessions DVD, $10. His tone is SICK on that DVD. SICK I say. The best tone I've ever heard, personally.

The sessions one. Freaky basstone :D

Yeah, I'd say so.....My Wawick still has the MEC's in it but they're getting changed out ASAP (money). As expensive as Warwicks (and other basses) are, you gotta cut costs somewhere and it's usually the electronics. Can't wait to change mine out.
