Members 1039greenday Posted June 6, 2005 Members Posted June 6, 2005 I had a great day today. Where i live every year, harley davidson sponsors an event to raise money for breast cancer research. Everyone brings out there bikes, theres a band, and everyone has a good time. Me and my dad go to check out the band, and they are doing a soundcheck. My dad notices the bass player has what looks like a very old fender. It turns out it was a '58 p-bass, but almost nothing was original. Different bridge, tuners, paint job, he put on bart's. His rig was a Gallien krueger 800rb, preamp channel>crown power amp>2 bergantino 1x12's. This rig pushed, full of low-mids, and even with the GK, it was warm. Then i had an interesting offer, he let me come on stage, and play through his rig. This was my first time on stage, and even though i only played for about 2 minutes, it was fun playing infront of people. This was my first time playing on stage:) . So we get to talking. He gives me some pointers on my playing, where to go for lessons, and he tells me something interesting. Apparently hes the bassplayer for Bill Haley and the comets, his name is Alex Craven. Later on, my family had a barbeque, which included Brats. In conclusion that is my day. I had alot of fun:) . BTW, can anyone tell me how are the prices for bergantino's?
Members Thunderbroom Posted June 6, 2005 Members Posted June 6, 2005 Sounds like a great day... I bet you had a blast playing in front of people.
Members hasbeen Posted June 6, 2005 Members Posted June 6, 2005 sounds like fun. In your post I thought you meant "brats" as in little kids. You must be from the mid-west. Not many people here in New England know what brats are.
Members hasbeen Posted June 6, 2005 Members Posted June 6, 2005 oops...saw you're from Queens. Well, in NYC they know what everything is. NY has everything.

Bergantino no longer posts prices on their website (that I can see), but I believe the prices are similar to Aguilar. You could probably find the HT112 for around $400 new (try Bass Northwest and Bass Central). The EX112 would be less. Edit: I just looked at Bass Central's website, and it appears the retail prices are $739 and $549 for the HT112 and EX112 respectively. So, you could probably get the HT112 for around $500 new...
