Members Caroway Posted June 13, 2005 Members Posted June 13, 2005 I wanna get one real bad. What are the new prices like? I haven't been able to find anything in the internet about how much they are new. Also, anyone want to buy my EBMM Stingray, Black on Black rosewood??
Members Ted Striker Posted June 13, 2005 Members Posted June 13, 2005 I got mine last year for $450. They are increasing in price. In the $500-600 range. Nice choice, they are great basses

Members Caroway Posted June 13, 2005 Author Members Posted June 13, 2005 Is that a new price? I found one on Gbase.com but they say its early 80s, but I don't think it is. Anyone know? http://www.gbase.com/Stores/Gear/GearDetails.aspx?Item=819150
Members mikgag Posted June 13, 2005 Members Posted June 13, 2005 You are a very smart person I'll reserve a spot in the army for you.....
Members Caroway Posted June 13, 2005 Author Members Posted June 13, 2005 I shall do my best, to serve the G&L army dilligently.
Members mikgag Posted June 13, 2005 Members Posted June 13, 2005 I own one bass. a SB-2 it plays itself and levels buildings. yay!
Members Sacred Cow Posted June 13, 2005 Members Posted June 13, 2005 http://www.bassnw.com/New%20Exotic%20%20Basses/gl_sb2_VW_MPL_MHS.htm no price but they have some new in stock
Members Caroway Posted June 13, 2005 Author Members Posted June 13, 2005 What does a #8 neck feel like? If I got that I would get a black pickguard for it. That'd be sweet.
Members lug Posted June 13, 2005 Members Posted June 13, 2005 Originally posted by Caroway What does a #8 neck feel like?If I got that I would get a black pickguard for it.That'd be sweet. #8 is a jazz style neck with a 12" radius (more modern, "flat" feel)
Members Caroway Posted June 13, 2005 Author Members Posted June 13, 2005 How does that compare to a EB MM Stingray 4 neck, IYO? I love my Stingray but its not as comfortable as a G&L neck. I have played on the Tribute models and I really dig those so I want to go for the real thing.
Members Rowka Posted June 13, 2005 Members Posted June 13, 2005 Originally posted by Caroway I found one on Gbase.com but they say its early 80s, but I don't think it is. Anyone know? It is an 80's model. You can tell by the rounded headstock. The later ones have a pointy "trigger" feature.
Members Caroway Posted June 13, 2005 Author Members Posted June 13, 2005 Good point. I didn't notice that at all. Thank you very much.

Members Caroway Posted June 13, 2005 Author Members Posted June 13, 2005 I might try to win it. Anyone wanna buy my Stingray?? $800 shipped. Bought new in Feb. 2005.
Members Caroway Posted June 13, 2005 Author Members Posted June 13, 2005 If I don't win one on ebay, I am gonna go buy a new one. Don't u have pics on here??
Members Caroway Posted June 13, 2005 Author Members Posted June 13, 2005 Its nice but I think i want a newer one. I don't really dig that color.
Members Rowka Posted June 13, 2005 Members Posted June 13, 2005 I dig that color. If you want to trade your green w/ rosewood fo a black w/ maple?...
Members Caroway Posted June 14, 2005 Author Members Posted June 14, 2005 I won...... woot woot!!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7328642353
Members bassment zombie Posted June 14, 2005 Members Posted June 14, 2005 Those are cool basses - I'm sure you'll enjoy yours - congrats! I'd likely have one myself if they included a tone pot/control...some folks wouldn't miss the lack of a tone control at all, but I do.
