Members rovito Posted June 19, 2005 Members Posted June 19, 2005 I played a hartke 200 watt amp this weekend instead of my eden system and it really surprised me. It was warm with plenty of bite and decent volume. I actually got some sounds that my eden rig simply cant get. This Hartke rig kicked ass!

Members rovito Posted June 19, 2005 Author Members Posted June 19, 2005 No BS. This makes me question my own gear snobery. I may have to order an Avatar cab or something.
Members sunburstbasser Posted June 20, 2005 Members Posted June 20, 2005 Well, of course it can get tones your Eden can't. There are some things all amps simply won't do. I'll bet in a band situation, though, the Edens would sound a lot better.

The 3500 doesn't have the tube preamp the HA2000 has, does it? The HA2000 has both SS & tube 12AX7 preamps that you can mix together.
Members Jazz Ad Posted June 20, 2005 Members Posted June 20, 2005 Both have the same hybrid preamp. You find them for peanuts anywhere around here.

Members Rippin' Robin Posted June 20, 2005 Members Posted June 20, 2005 Really, Hartke stuff isn't that bad. But it's bland en generic. No-one's every gonna say: "Gosh, I love his trademark Hartke-ey tone".
