Members Zebra Posted June 27, 2005 Members Posted June 27, 2005 Looking for some aftermarker pups that are humbucking AND can split coils. Unless I'm ill informed, only specialized pups can do that. So far the only one Ive found is the EMG 35TW, or something, whichever one has the orange "EMG" on the front.I want a two pickup configuration that can split independantly. Kinda tough tracking them down.
Members turtletheyertle Posted June 27, 2005 Members Posted June 27, 2005 hmm i think most humbuckers can split... you just need to wire them to do it.
Members JC Bass Posted June 27, 2005 Members Posted June 27, 2005 Carvin HB4 for 4-strings Carvin HB5 for 5-strings Carvin HB5W for 5-strings with wide strings spacing Carvin HB6 for 6-strings I know these have coils splitting.
Members cthulhu0 Posted June 27, 2005 Members Posted June 27, 2005 iirc, any 4 conductor pu can be tapped/spit. some only have 2 wires, and cannot be spit.

Members bassman1956 Posted June 27, 2005 Members Posted June 27, 2005 Bart has a series of quad coils in standard soapbar packages. It's like 2 split coil jazz pups lying next to each other. So you can take either one from column A and either one from column B, or all 4 together in series or parallel or whatever. I keep thinking of using a single pup like this, with a switch to go between a P configuration and a full humbucker.
