Members L-1329
The first bass I ever owned, which I first learned to play on, and which I had since I was in the third grade has been sold. It was my upright, and I had played countless concerts and shows with it over the years. It will be great to cash the check, but it really is starting to feel strange that it is gone! I never had the time to practice, a place to keep it, and it was just going to waste so I decided to let it go. Even though it's been true for years, I am now no longer officially an upright bassist. The good news is that it sounds like it will have a good new home, with a kid who will use it well. I'm not sure if this is good or if it sucks... If I were to lose my P bass, I don't think I could deal with it. Sure, it may be a piece of junk, but it holds special, sentimental value to me. Members filterthing
Yeah, I can't get rid of my Guild b302, it was my first real bass. It sits under our bed, and I never play it. But I could never sell it. Being sentimental just holds you back, that and it makes you have lots of gear!
Members sunburstbasser
I could part with my first bass. I could even part with my Reverend if offered the right trade. Wood is as wood does.
Members Kin Corn Karn
all things must pass. I sold my first guitar a LONG time ago, and it was my only guitar for about 6 years. I don't have a lot of valuable sentiment about my youth so there aren't many things that have sentimental value to me.
