Members metalbob
Other than the price and pickup type and preamp what are the differences of the lakland 55-01 or 55-02???? anybody have both or an opinion???
Members sunburstbasser
I think you've nailed most of the differences already. Both are made in Korea, or at least the parts are, then those are shipped State-side for assembly. If there is a difference anywhere, I am unaware of it. One gives you the Bart Mk. 1 setup, the "generic" Bart pickup. The other gives you USA Bartolini electronics. Much more expensive, and different configuration, but overall USA Barts are better than the Mks. in almost all regards.
Members Emprov
The basses are identical with the exception of the pickups and pre, MK-1's vs the J/MM pups. No-logic has an -01 and he digs the tone, the -02's are the same pups that are in the -94's and I dig my -94. Cant miss either way, they're pretty nice basses. Members sunburstbasser
Its like the -01s are a basic Lakland bass, the -02 are a step up, then the -94s and the like are the top.
