Members bottomfeeder Posted July 7, 2005 Members Posted July 7, 2005 I want to get a book /cd combo to practice with. I was thinking of one of these. I need help with my timing/groove/technique but i want it to be within the blues/old school r&b funk style. Which one should I get?if you own one of these give me a little review please.

All of these are good books. I would get the building walking lines and then the funk bass one.
Members nicebigstrings Posted July 8, 2005 Members Posted July 8, 2005 Although I haven't checked it out yet 'Building Walking Basslines' would be my pick. That takes some clinical study and analysis. You don't need a book to learn funk or blues, just lift that stuff off the best records you can find. You'll internalize better and as a really good art teacher told me - "When you stand on someone else's shoulders you see farther."
