Shut up, I could. My wife would kill me.

"ANOTHER BASS?!?!?!"

"Don't worry honey, it only cost $3000."

Sell a kidney or something. Besides, if she kills you, you can get buried with the 4001 and the Wal.

That's a thought. Carrying both a Wal and a 67 4001s they probably would let me walk right thru the pearly gates.

$3,000 is a good price for any Wal anymore, it seems. Don't they go for closer to $5,000+ new?

I'd love that bass.

they're $3000-3500 new but you can't get them new right now unless you ordered one 6 months ago....Pete has stopped taking requests.

this is how people like bass NW can get away with selling a 1986 wal for the same price as a new one. the demand for one is that high.

i still have mine waiting at Bass Central to finish paying off....if i really wanted to (which i don't) i could turn around and sell it on ebay for about $4k. but i wont

Wals and Rics. Wals and Rics. Both are ugly as sin, both sound absolutely awesome. I'll have at least one of each thanks. I don't care what the colours are.

RSB: I know what you mean. I have been dreaming of a CherryGlo Ric for years. Imagine this; thin translucent burgundy, gradually getting deeper towards the edge, which bursts to dark, dark black cherry at the edges.

That would make a BurgundyGlo 4001 even more... *drooooooool*

A quote from the seller:

"The autograph in the back is by Dave LaRue of "Steve Morse Band". If it bothers you, then don't bid on this bass. I had a chance to meet him in person and had him sign my bass."

Hopefully the autograph was done with a magic marker- some polish or rubbing alcohol will take it right off, restoring the value of the bass.
