Members Nasty Posted July 15, 2005 Author Members Posted July 15, 2005 hmmmi don't knowi know he uses eden cabsdoes he also play schectors like his brother?

Members RSBro Posted July 15, 2005 Members Posted July 15, 2005 Diz-am... NICE rig setup! I wanted to get a CA-series amp, but they alone weigh more than my cab, so, eh. Had to decide against it!
Members Mudbass Posted July 15, 2005 Members Posted July 15, 2005 Congrats! The tone controls on the F-1X are deceptively simple. Bass, mid and treble. How tough could it be...right? Well, the controls are all interactive so adjusting one also changes the characteristics of the others. This makes the possibilities from those three simple controls absolutely mind boggling. The best way I found to begin dialing in your tone is to start with the controls set flat, which on the Alembic is bass = 0, mid = 10 and treble = 0. From there, adjust your bass and treble levels to taste. Personally, I leave the bright switch off. With the bright on there's so much treble it makes my teeth wiggle and that's even with the horns in the cabs turned off.

I can post some links of folks discussing this who know the F-1X inside and out, if you're interested. Adjust accordingly from there, and as Mud indicated - they are interactive! Example, 10-10-10 would be a 'super smiley faced' eq, etc.
Members Nasty Posted July 15, 2005 Author Members Posted July 15, 2005 wouldn't 10-0-10 be the super smiley face?i thought that a 10 on mid would bring them up to flat i also don't use the bright switchlove the deep switch thoughreally looking forward to messing with the crossover too

That's why it's flat with it set on 10. The crossover in the F-1X is a second order crossover, meaning it cuts by 12db per octave. So, if you want to roll off the bass to your top cab at let's say -24db@100hz, you don't set it at 100hz you set it two octaves higher at 400hz. That'll give you -24db@100hz.
Members MageZ Posted July 15, 2005 Members Posted July 15, 2005 Killer rig. I WOULD ROCK IT!!!!!!!!!!

Glad I got the Demeter!
